Destinations Travel & Cruise Expo

Destinations was planned for 2020, and the responsive website was an example of a project I designed from concept through to completion. My brief was to use enticing travel images, to be mobile friendly, and to include information above the fold on the desktop version, so that visitors and exhibitors would find all the information they needed at their fingertips. I decided on a series of panoramic full screen sliders for the desktop site, with equivalent closer images for the mobile version. For the typography chose a clean, open, easy to read san serif font. I also wrote and/or edited the content for this site. The final result was attractive and easy to navigate, and worked well for both desktop and mobile.

The homepage had a brief outline of the three different aspects of the event, with pictures showing the different features of each.

I was fortunate to contribute to writing the content for this site as well as design it was because of the pressure other departments were under, working on multiple events. User testing revealed a desire to see enticing travel pictures so this is exactly what I gave them. Pictures were updated on a regular basis to keep the website content fresh.

Brochure design
I designed a brochure for Destinations potential exhibitors. My brief was quite open, except I was asked to create a point of difference, something that might pique or prolong interest. So I created my own 12pp die-line to give the design an accordian fold, that was DL size when folded, so it could still be mailed in a standard envelope, an important consideration in the budget. The zig-zag shaped brochure stood upright, and as it was attractive with enticing travel shots. We hoped potential exhibitors might stand it up on their desks, whilst considering the expo, rather than immediately filing it away. Below is the brochure and print ready artwork.
